Kanazawa Sushi Yojiro — Restaurant in Kanazawa

A spectacular place using delicious, fresh ingredients. The restaurant feels very intimate (there are 6 seats per serving) and the chef was welcoming and amiable throughout the stay. To watch him wield the knife with such precision and confidence was having a show with our meal!

The sushi was easily the best I have ever had, and I could quite happily have carried on eating! Selections are made from a curated menu and are served according to the most suitable order as determined by the chef. The restaurant also boasts an impressive nihonshu menu that complement the food perfectly.

A special shout out goes to the pickled ginger monaka offered after the meal: the perfect round-off to an already exceptional offering.

Cannot recommend this place enough - give it a try if you are in the neighbourhood!

As foreigners we booked via Google Maps. It was an amazing experience - the chef and his staff are super foreigner friendly. The other guests sitting next to us are all Japanese but they made the effort to translate for us. We couldnt feel more welcome in this country - the sushi set was amazing value for money as well. Really good quality of the food. You could really see the passion of the chef during the preparation of the sushi. There are only 6 places, so be sure to reserve a spot in advance.
