Cute restaurant, BUT: 1: dishes are not small, but tiny! We got a sashimi platter which had the cheapest fish available(sole fish, pifferfish,sardine and tiniest piece of tuna that you can get) and for 1700 yen this is a laughable amount of food. Other dishes were tiny too 2: there is a 400 yen extra charge pp(you cannot avoid and it is written on the first page on the menu but we are surprised to find ot more expensive than we expected) as well as a must order one drink pp policy(just shady an unnecessary with these prices...) 3: when we git the bill which was higher then we expected and checked it, the waiter rudely forcefully knocked on our table to hurry up and pay, which is completely unacceptable! When we checked the menue he was also super rude. 4: we finished the dinner hungry and literally bought more 3 times as much food for 20% of the cost of the dinner at 7/11 which is an unpleasant end to a dining experience, especially when paying that much. Altogether the food was nice, but totally doesn't justify the price or the extremely rude behavior...

I ended up coming here because of the great Google reviews, and was looking to have a nice dinner and splurge a bit. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I will start by saying the atmosphere and service were great, and the idea of the place is awesome. However, it was just poorly executed and not at all worth what they were charging. If you come from a western country, you will likely not be impressed with this restaurant as gastronomy in western countries is at a different level. I found all of the flavours to be one-dimensional. On top of this, I ordered an appetizer tuna and avocado salad, and the tuna had a lot of tough, sinewy bits in it that we couldn't chew through. I've never had tuna like that (traveled throughout Japan + I'm from Vancouver). So I'm presuming the chef/cook was inexperienced with sashimi, or it was low quality tuna/scraps? But we were in Kanazawa of all places! The land of seafood. You would think the chef would know how to...

I was really looking forward to this dinner! The ambiance was amazing and food was also quite good as well, although we selected the $6000 pp set and I was a bit underwhelmed at what made this better “better ingredients” vs the $5000 set and no one talked to us or explained that to us the entire time. Overall, our experience was tainted by a waiter who didn’t seem like he wanted us there. Every request felt like we were insulting him. We never got water, and when we did after finally asking did it, it was rarely refilled. The final bill came as a number on a paper. When I asked to see it itemized, he seemed insulted I would ask for that. His entire attitude to us was unfriendly the entire tonight and really made the experience for our group negative. If you check other negative review, most are related to the service. I hope the waiter can either adjust his attitude or they find someone who actually wants to be there and enjoys...
