Buying a front row seat you get early access and are treated to sweets and matcha whipped up by one of the houses cute ladies. Definitely worth the additional expense. The program itself is a bit of history lessons by the owner Lady Baba, a bit of the two Geisha performing traditional song, dance and drumming and a bit of games with the guests, namely drumming and a drinking game. One of the participants cheated the system a bit by reducing his error possibilities and "won". But why the hell would you want to "win", when the "loser" is poured sake by a beautiful geisha? All in all very much worth the price and for me personally the singing was the highlight. If you hear it live the impression is so much stronger than...

Great drumming!! The Geisha performance hosted by Lady Ba Ba at the Traditional Teahouse Kaikaro in the Higashi Chayagai district, was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan and a real insight into traditional Japanese culture. The surrounding area is really beautiful, and wish we had spent a little longer wandering its streets with old traditional wooden buildings. Pay a little extra and spring for the seats! We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone...

Cool place, felt like I was back in the edo period in a traditional tea house.

Not cheap by any means, make sure to wear your own socks. The tea and desserts were nice, however the parfait with gold is overpriced.

Then self guided tour of the house was cool, there were a nice guide in each room to tell you what it was used for. Might not be the best tea house to go to when you are visiting here but...

The tea and desserts were nice, however the parfait with gold is overpriced. Then self guided tour of the house was cool, there were a nice guide in each room to tell you what it was used for. Might not be the best tea house to go to when you are visiting here but it’s decent.
