Yoiyoi — Restaurant in Kanazawa

We visited this restaurant twice in November 2024 because it was conveniently located near our hotel.

We enjoyed the ambience—it was bright, clean, and lively. It’s an ideal spot for large groups of friends or colleagues looking to gather for drinks and dinner, but it also offers a pleasant atmosphere for couples or smaller groups to relax over a meal.

The staff were attentive and efficient; our orders were taken promptly, and the manager, whom we believe was the manager, was very friendly and welcoming.

For starters, we ordered the marinated firefly squid, which we loved, as it pairs perfectly with beer. While the smell might not appeal to everyone, the taste was exquisite and truly whetted our appetites. For the main course, we had Chicken Kushikatsu and stir-fried red sausage for sentimental reasons. Lastly, we ordered the fried chicken with homemade sauce, which was both substantial and tasty.

On our second visit, we started with the marinated firefly squid again and added the braised beef tendon, which was tender and sweet. We then ordered Chicken Kushikatsu, Chicken Yakitori, and the fried Noto oyster, which was outstanding. The spicy chicken was good as well, although it wasn't as spicy as we had anticipated. Finally, we tried the crab cream croquettes, which were quite good too.

In terms of pricing, some items on the menu were reasonably priced, while others were slightly higher than at other establishments.

We love the food & service here. Prices were reasonable for a Izakaya restaurant. Our total bill for 4 pax with beers 🍺 was around JPY 11,000. Items were very fresh & not rushed out.
