Kasuga — Restaurant in Kawagoe

I got to try this restaurant for the first time! I love the traditional like vibe in the restaurant! The Somen noodles we got were 30% made of potato and that gave the noodles delicious amount of chewiness! What’s great was the price of the noodles! It’s the tourist area so it could be overpriced but this restaurant is very wallet friendly one and I loved it so much! Also, some Mochi came with my food combo and that was very flavorful with lightly grilled soy sauce! Hmm so good and can’t wait to go back one day! If you happened to go traveling around Kawagoe, this store highly recommended! It maybe long line so make sure keep hydrated for yourself while you are waiting! Keep up the good work...

It was a very charming experience dining at Kasuga. You will notice the restaurant from it’s little window that sells Dango, Japanese dumpling on a stick. Head in and you will be greeted by a cozy little restaurant with diners happily slurping their noodles. The speciality here is its “soumen”, thin Japanese noodles. It comes in cold dipping sauce or a broth that can be ordered hot or cold. There is a variety of set meals that includes something for everyone. We went for a late afternoon coffee and had an amazing sweet surprise! Their sweet menu was amazing, they are very popular for dango, but they were sold out. But it was fate, because we tried sweet potato and anmitsu and they were absolutely delicious. Sweet potato just became my favorite japanese sweet of all time.
