Nirvanam North and South Indian Restaurant Kawagoe — Restaurant in Kawagoe

Restaurant Ambience was always great with Free Car Parking and close to train station is plus however the food taste for vegetarian/non vegetarian was specially below average. I had been there for 4-5 times. During my every visit, the level of taste goes down day by day and sometimes the service of front desk person was rude and not listening to Customers request (specific to Indian customers ).

Best food: Medu Vada and sambar Worst food: Balusahi (badushah for South Indians )- literally like stone.

Being in Japan for reasonable years, I can understand that there was a lot of challenges involved to serve Indian quality foods in japan. But when I compare with Nirvanam I know in Tokyo areas ( able to serve customer with highest quality) , it was totally disappointing when it comes to Kawagoe. Why customers have to endure such substandard quality/service in these areas? Before writing this review I had gone through the review section quickly and seems there are lot of bad reviews in recent months. I would sincerely request them to consider same food quality and service as they serve in Kamiyacho/Toranomon areas. In addition,I would request sincerely to the owner for some improvement as mentioned above.

Special request : If veg. And non-veg in lunch buffet can be considered separately , it would make many vegetarians happy 😊 as well and worth for Penny.

We went for weekend lunch. Usually they serve All you can eat Buffet for Lunch hour. Try to cover north and south indian food options as well as Japanese rice was available. Food variation was good but food taste as per indian standard is so so... Biryani was good though. The south style mutton curry wasn’t taste good... the spice proportion was not ok. chicken curry was also quite average. one more thing want to mention that they serves Golgappa / Fuchka (indian snack) but the tamarind water was way too sour. If it hits my taste bud that much I assume it can be hard for Japanese people (specially children) to consume. But if you want to taste much more than indian chicken curry or nun then please visit this place. This is likely the worst Indian restaurant I have ever ate at. Went there for a vegetarian buffet but it was terrible due to following reasons: Went there around 1:30 PM. The food already felt stale (soggy nan etc) Taste was terrible for most items except 1 curry (dal) and the sweet dish (custard) Worst experience:: the medu wada had a clear smell of sea food (likely it was in the oil used for frying seafood earlier). When confronted about this the staff denied it. But we were pukish (we are vegetarians) after eating it. Hygiene standards were questionable (dirty cutlery, kitchen felt unhygienic)

Please don't visit this place for Indian food. Pretty sure there must be better...
