The oldest coffeeshop in Japan. It was first opened in 1878! Great atmosphere with some accompanying cakes (cheesecake, apple tart, Mont Blanc) / azuki butter toast for the coffee. Coffee of the day was medium roast so it was kind of light for me who prefers dark roasted coffee. Not the strongest cup of coffee I have had in Japan but worth a visit if you are in Kobe for the historical value and relaxing atmosphere. Most importantly, it is smoke-free! Would recommend the cheesecake that is light and small. We had the tea set which is reasonably priced at ...

Ordered take away here. Coffee was alright, but the staff were quite inconsiderate. First, they were unprofessionally late to open their shop, and second they told us to wait outside in the freezing cold for our order whilst there was only ONE costumer inside the shop (not busy inside at all), even after I had asked if I could stay in cause it was cold… Don’t think I’ll be going...

This was a great little place to find to have coffee at while in the area. The people were great at this cafe. The coffee I got was from the stone mill and it tasted good that I even got a pot of the coffee. This place is a such a nice place to pass the time or do some work. Great to people watch which was fun. The cakes they have are...
