Avoid this restaurant if you care about honesty, human decency, or basic respect for travelers.

I made a reservation at YUZABURO before I arrived in Osaka. Google Maps showed the restaurant as being in Osaka, and I only discovered it was actually located in Kobe on the day of the reservation, when I checked directions. That alone makes it risky for tourists.

But the real issue is the way this restaurant treats people.

I had a head injury the night before, and I reached out to them more than 7 hours in advance, clearly explaining my situation and asking if there were any alternative solutions. I never said I was canceling I was simply asking for help.

Instead of offering a single option or even asking clarifying questions, they immediately treated it as a cancellation, clearly to justify charging me. This shows they have zero empathy, especially for international guests who may face unexpected health or travel issues.

Worse, when I called at 12:20 PM — and remember, the restaurant doesn’t even open until 5:30 PM — the staff told me he was “serving customers” and refused to talk, telling me to email instead. That was a blatant lie, just to avoid real-time conversation and create distance. They will lie to protect their ability to charge you.

This isn’t hospitality. This is money-first, guest-last mentality, with no compassion, no honesty, and no willingness to be human. If you make a booking here, just know: they will weaponize their policies against you the second anything goes wrong.

Refined cuisine means nothing if it comes from people who treat you like a transaction,...

Best beef I have ever had in my 30 years of being on this planet, and that's no exaggeration.

I specifically chose this place over a traditional teppanyaki-style beef restaurant because I wanted a bit more variety (you know exactly what you're getting with a teppanyaki restaurant, and there really aren't any surprises).

Our beef was prepared in the following varieties: tartare, sushi, several steaks, soup, sukiyaki and curry. Every dish was absolutely top notch.

And what really made my night special was chef You. Obviously very passionate about his work. Was very friendly all evening, explaining each dish to me and sharing his thoughts on the city as well as his insights on the Japanese high-end beef industry. Fascinating stuff.

Absolutely would recommend to anyone in...

Clear discrimination against foreigners, the portion of food served to us and to the Japanese clients are distinctly disproportionate. I wonder if the chef is a racist. The quality of the beef was good but there was too much raw meat with the same seasoning.

Overall a very disappointing experience for such high price and will not...
