Sone — Restaurant in Kobe

I was visiting Kobe and on a whim, walked into Sone. I was so glad I did, because my whole experience there was wonderful, delightful, and complete magic! The staff was so welcoming and nice. The food was absolutely incredible (Get the "Sone Set" with Japanese beef Sirloin and you will be in heaven, your tastebuds with thank you) and the live band and singer were so lovely! I am American, and a huge fan of jazz standards, and the atmosphere this place created was on a superior level. Such artistry on display! One of the oldest jazz bars/restaurants in Kobe and a must visit for any lover of good times, music, and food. I will most definitely be visiting again...

The food is kinda ok, the fish and chips too oily.... Drink here is kinda of overpriced and you had to order at least a drink on top of the entrance fee. I booked a reservation at Sone based on a recommendation in a Japan travel (Lonely Planet) guide. We enjoyed the jazz club atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, and professionalism and skill of the musicians. Atmosphere is top notch. Service was great. Food was tasty, but somewhat expensive for getting so little. My recommendation would be eat some appetizers, order some drinks, and enjoy the music. Then, eat dinner elsewhere....
