TERRACE — Restaurant in Kumamoto

This was a fantastic restaurant experience. Honestly from top to bottom we enjoyed it. From the service, to the drinks, the food. The place is expensive but we thought the cost was justified across the board from what we ordered. The drinks were about 900 yen each, but were great. We had margaritas, they use top shelf tequila. We had three different types of mojitos. They either use an entire fresh lime in each one or a ton of fresh mint. They have good beer on tap. Good coffee. And the food... It runs the gambit. From pasta to tacos. We really enjoyed being able to eat a lot of different dishes. We were not disappointed in any aspect of this place, and if you read my other reviews, I usually always have something negative to say about even the best of places.

The service was on point. We went in Saturday night to see if we could make a last minute reservation for Sunday. They were super nice about it, and found a spot for us. On the way out the main chef said to me in English, "see you tomorrow." As a foreigner and as someone with a lot of visible tattoos, I often expect people to roll their eyes when I walk in the door. So it was nice to feel welcomed. The next day, there are servers left and right, we never had to flag someone down. They were taking away our empty glass and giving us clean plates constantly, but not to the point they were in the way. They were attentive and well trained.

This is a great place to come for an anniversary, a nice date. Birthday. At least for my income level. We left mostly full, and I had 4 drinks plus coffee, my wife had 3 drinks plus coffee and the bill was 14,000. Which I felt was 100% on point for the...

Terrace Kumamoto has become one of our absolute favorite dining spots — it’s the kind of place we find ourselves returning to almost every two weeks without even thinking twice.

The food is consistently amazing. Their mixed seafood ceviche is refreshing, zesty, and beautifully prepared — the perfect start to the meal. We also love their carne tacos — packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned. The beef is always tender and full of depth, a true highlight of the menu.

Our daughter has her go-to favorites, too — the melted cheese pasta and chicken wings, both of which are always a hit. The wings are crispy and flavorful, and the pasta is rich, comforting, and just the right amount of indulgent.

Beyond the food, we absolutely love the design and ambiance. It’s modern yet relaxed, stylish but welcoming — a great space to unwind, celebrate, or simply enjoy a great meal with people you love.

Terrace was a pleasant surprise. Feels like an at home environment/atmosphere. Not too loud, chill and cozy. The star of the evening for me were the Saba Tacos! Chef's kiss on those tacos (I ordered 2) Honestly best Saba tacos I've ever had. I also tried the horse tacos ...also very good but slight edge to the Saba. Guacamole dip was also very good!
