Ueda — Restaurant in Kurashiki

Love the food, love the owners! They were super friendly and they spoke English! We had the beef bowl, curry rice, omelette rice, and chicken pilaf. Each came with a salad and got miso soup, all delicious! They taste just like home cooked meals from a Japanese mother!

Owners chatted with us and there's even a cute shy cat in the restaurant. Our kids really enjoyed their meal and getting to chat with the locals.

But beware that smoking is allowed in the restaurant and the smell may be too overpowering for some people.

Old stylish café with jazz music. Japan is not good with coffee but this place was splendid in its making. Very friendly and relaxed staff, polite but actually genuine. I made a great impression on then on the way out... Smack my head on the door ceiling (yes I'm a tall Swede). We had a good laugh. Their feline friend is named "Peach", cute cat! Next time I hope...
