Tips: Check with wife what did they bought from the market this morning for the freshest produced Order homemade plum sake made by the wife I enjoyed the simple boiled yam dish Uni was fresh and sweet Egg plant with yellow and red miso was simple and delish

This is a smoking restaurant. If you don't feel comfortable (avoid going) as they may have Japanese patrons that smokes...

I don't know if I should be polite or not, so I will do my best: If you are a foreigner, don't go to this place! They don't want you there. For some reason, sushi (niguiri) prices shown outside have nothing to do with the English menu. And I don't think that was a price update. But worst and more important: quality is not remarkable and portions are reeeeaaaaly small. So simply, leave the place for the locals. I really hope and believe they will be well...

Quite good overall including attitude and quality of food. Expensive or not I cannot justIfy as it is the first meal I had in Gion. For your reference, we spent ¥9774 including tax for the recommended set (¥3000), a small bottle of sake, 2 pieces of eel sushi, 3 pieces of salmon roe sushi, 1 chawan mushi, 1 plate of sea-urchin sashimi and a bowl...
