Amazing find on google maps/reviews! Sign says “Katsu“ and it is up a small set of beige stairs.

Very small - table of 2, table of 4 and 5 bar seats only. We were the only tourists, but the hostess was welcoming and kind. Mostly locals coming in for lunch - always a good sign!

Humble, bur excellent quality food. The best miso soup I have had. Draft beer and very reasonable prices - We had a tempura rice bowl and tuna bowl and both were very tasty. Two draft beers and the total was 3500yen

Note - the bathroom is a traditional “standing” toilet so if you’re looking for a western sit down toilet there are public toilets in the imperial palace grounds...

A little restaurant hosted by a Japanese couple. We visited here by chance and really spent a great time with the host. Their sashimi is very fresh. The grilled fish is also well-balanced.
