I wanted to share my thoughts following a recent visit to your restaurant. While the quality of the Kobe beef was good, unfortunately, the service did not meet the high standards I had anticipated.

Upon arriving on time, I had to wait about ten minutes before being seated. Once seated, there was no ice water provided, and the red wine I ordered only arrived after the entrée. Despite requesting water from the staff, it was not brought to me, and I had to ask the chef directly before receiving it.

We ordered two Kobe Beef Teppanyaki sets, costing over 60,000 yen, yet there was no hot tea offered after the meal, which is typically a standard in fine dining. Additionally, the ice cream had to be ordered separately. These small details, such as offering hot tea or dessert to round off the meal, are what elevate the dining experience, and their absence left me feeling less than satisfied.

I was disappointed by how the service did not align with the quality of the food. While the Kobe beef was exceptional, the overall experience did not leave me with the sense of delight I expected. Service like this is far below what I have come to expect from high-end restaurants in Japan, and I hope you will take this feedback into account to improve the overall dining experience for...

This was not a teppanyaki experience where the chef cooks the food in front of you. We were put in a private room (group of 4) that felt more like a business meeting room and never saw the chef.

The service was excellent, as was the food, but I am giving this restaurant one star because the restaurant presents itself as an experience where you are seated around the chef who cooks your meal (see all the google pictures).

This should be made clear by the restaurant when you book, especially for tourists. It is a very expensive meal, particularly with additional charges like a 10% service charge. We would have been fine with this had the chef been preparing the food in front of us as expected.

Leaving this review as a warning for other tourists expecting to be seated around the chef.

Edit: the restaurant claims that we booked a private room and should have booked at the counter, but this was not presented as an option when booking and so we believed all seats would be with a chef. I've added a screenshot of the Google booking process...

Overpriced and basically for foreigners who are not familiar with teppanyaki. Besides beef, we also ordered the seafood. The lobster don't taste fresh. The scallop is full of sand. The prawn is cooked without shell and head. The worst part is that the chef just do all the food at once. Do not expect a fine dining experience which each food is cooked individually and served while freshly cooked. They cook all the seafood and meat at the same time like in a food court. So a lot of the food are left cool before we manage to eat it. Usually it will take about one and a half hour to enjoy a well planned teppanyaki, but this time we finished in 45 min and there was also a service charge. We paid over 80,000 yen for 3 persons for such a short meal which felt like having fast food in a food court.

By the way, the chef seems inexperience. With poor skill in handling seafood and poor seasoning. The beef selected was also served wrongly to a different person.

Worst dinning experience...

I had the most wonderful experience at a Kobe beef restaurant in Kyoto—it was truly unforgettable. Coming from Texas, where beef is abundant and steak is practically a way of life, I honestly wasn’t expecting to be surprised. But this was on another level. The quality, tenderness, and depth of flavor of the Kobe beef were unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Every bite quite literally melted in my mouth. The care in preparation, the marbling, and even the way it was presented made it feel like a work of art. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience. Even as someone who’s grown up around great cuts of meat, this was completely novel. It gave me a whole new appreciation for beef—and for the incredible precision and reverence the Japanese have for the dining experience.
