Adorable and beautiful little place in kyoto, I only have amazing things to say about this place, the food was the best I'd had my whole time in japan and the atmosphere is friendly and intimate. The owners are a couple, the husband speaks English and is easy to talk to and funny, it was an absolute privilege to experience an omakase prepared by these two! I really enjoyed that it was a small place (8 seater), it makes the whole experience more personal and really helps you enjoy the meal too. We've been to Sushi Noz, Sushi Yasuda, Sushi Nakazawa, etc. - Higohisa's sushi quality and variety are absolutely comparable to those sushi restaurants.
The owners are super friendly and have a long 40yr history making sushi in Japan and NYC. In fact, their sushi restaurant in NYC (Sushisay) was beloved by many!
