The Ultimate Way to Experience Kyoto: Rise Early and Stay Up Late

The pressed sushi and Mackerel Sushi are elegant and 🤤 delicious. The lady shop owner recommended me that no soy sauce on the mackerel sushi. That’s the most yummy I hv had. The fish meat has stronger fish flavor!!!! I found that they use fresh Wasabi. It gave me fresh mild grainy wasabi taste with less salty. Another level up. They are very nice and humbled. They r eager to talk to me even they don’t know English. When I pay 💰, I found that they put the badge from Michelin Recommended locate beside the cashier. They are super low profile humble person. The shop is full of history and run with old owners. It is worth to experience their sushi and their kindness.

This restaurant was extremely good. Good enough that it got a Michelin star. Food 🍱: 9.25 /10⭐ Though quite plain, the food was delicious. I would prefer if there was less rice and more of the other ingredients. Service ♥️: 10/10⭐ The waiters and waitresses were super polite and kind. On the menu they said they weren't fluent in English, but that's not true. Atmosphere 🏙️: 6.5/10⭐ There wasn't much space between tables. When we went, it was pretty empty (only us and two other people), so it didn't make much sense to have the many other tables. In my opinion, this restaurant's simple food was outstanding.

We ordered a nigiri set at this restaurant and it was a delicious. The pieces were generously sized and the fish was fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed the variety in the assortment.

They ask if you want wasabi and we said yes, but at times we found the wasabi a bit strong for our taste buds. However, it's personal preference so we don't fault the restaurant at all! We wanted to try it how it was meant to be eaten.

This place has two tables that are tatami seating, which is more unique. We didn't get to try it but it looked cool! Our server also knew English so if you're worried about ordering, that might be helpful.

I definitely recommend this place, their...

We visited the restaurant around 5 p.m. as a couple. There were a few other groups besides us, but the atmosphere inside was calm and very comfortable. The staff were courteous and attentive, and it was nice to see them being kind to other customers as well. We had heard beforehand that the mackerel sushi was delicious, so we ordered the mackerel sushi and an assorted sushi platter. We were surprised that it’s meant to be eaten without soy sauce, but it was incredibly tasty just as it was. We would love to visit again the next time we come to Kyoto, and we would definitely recommend this...
