The English menu contains four different sets, the two most expensive ones being vegetarian. We had the ¥2700 and ¥3200 sets which both came in cute boxes containing various small pieces of food. Both were similar, but the ¥3200 box had slightly fewer pieces of food, and had a side dish of tempura. Overall an interesting lunch of apparently traditional Kyoto food, with some items nicer than others. We also had a matcha that came with mochi and was served after the meal. The atmosphere was tranquil, with just a few occupied tables, and gentle Japanese...

This restaraunt simply fed one of THE most amazing meals I have ever eaten. I am a big meat eater, but as I wanted the cultural experience of Buddhist vegetarian dining, I thought I would try the Teppachi meal ( one which is spread out into a multi course meal in varying sized bowls which stack into each other when finished). This meal simply blew me away with all the new and amazing flavors it offered. I can be picky, but i am glad i tried new things here. Would recommend to any and all in this quiet, beautiful...

Dishes are amazing here! It’s the most delicious vegetarian Kyoto traditional dishes Ive ever had. The location is away from the Main Street so it takes some time to walk there from the train station. But we had a wonderful experience here with surprise in every bites. Totally worth of trying. Staffs don’t speak English but they are really...

We stopped here for lunch while doing some "off the beaten path" exploring in Kyoto. Ordered the tempura lunch. Nice presentation, cozy atmosphere, and good food. It was not crowded at all. I think we may have been the only customers. It was in August of 2022, so very few tourists.
