Tsure-zure — Restaurant in Kyoto

We found this place after visiting some sites in the area. It has several tables inside and a sweet lady greeted us and directed us to a table. I was excited because I wanted to try boiled tofu and it was on the menu. We ended up ordering rice in green tea (because it sounded interesting!) and the boiled tofu set. The food was excellent. The tofu comes in a hot pot and with a side of delicious sauce that you can dip it in. It's hot and warm and silky. It tastes very fresh and is absolutely delicious with some of the sauce. The other pickled items and rice are also nice. And there's even some big sweetened red beans that are almost like a nice dessert after. We also enjoyed the green tea rice.

You can watch the ladies in the kitchen cooking and the interior is so calm and beautiful, with big windows so you can see the lovely trees.

To finish we also ordered the matcha shaved ice (uji kintoki). It was perfect for such a hot day and the red beans were very yummy. Definitely come here if you're...

We stumbled upon this cute eatery while looking for dining options while exploring the scenic backside of Arashiyama bamboo grove. Absolutely delicious soba noodle place around 15 mins walk from the back entrance and 2 minutes from Koutuen ceramics.

The food is 100% vegetarian.

The restaurant is run by 3 old ladies who were the cutest and despite the language barrier we managed to communicate.

We ordered wild sprout soba noodles basically noodles w vegetables and fried tofu noodles w a side of grilled mochi rice balls and everything was just flavorful, hearty and healthy. It felt like eating in your grandma’s kitchen.

Perfect Japanese place to eat 100% vegetarian. They have only 1 pecsitarian option for those that love fish. The price is very low and the quality of the food is very high. You will instantly feel the great environment and the warm welcome from the personal. I leave some pictures of the menu and the food we have eaten for only 1300 yen. 5 starts in all. Very authentic and not that much people.
