McDonald's - Shijo Kawaramachi — Restaurant in Kyoto

This place is below average for McDonald's Japan. The staff are almost all foreigners and they're usually tired from dealing with the amount of customers that come here, which mainly consists of tourists that don't speak japanese. So it's understandable about the staffing. Then, they have to deal with the kids screaming and crying. So it's also understandable that the atmosphere and the service overall is below average.

For the place itsel, for takeout they don't give any plastic bags, just the paper bags, and if you order table delivery, be prepared for a rude awakening.

Foodwise, it's a shame that they're so busy that the food usually isn't prepared the most nicely.

We usually avoid fast food when traveling, but during a tight schedule between activities, McDonald’s was our go-to since Ichiran had a 40-minute wait every single time we checked—four times in total! Nice branch of McDonalds which has 3 self service terminals giving you the option of either waiting for the food at the counter or having it delivered to your table. I usually just wait and collect, but after a day walking about in 36c heat, took our number and waited for it to delivered. I did fear it would be hanging about after being cooked before someone would be able to deliver it. However, it was really quickly cooked and delivered by an older man who was very customer focused.
