The food was great (credit where it is due) but the service was definitely subpar. I noticed the waiter was only talking to and checking up on certain customers. He did not bother to refill our water throughout our hour long meal, he did not check up on us or anything like that. I was in disbelief when the waiter literally pushed my husband and I to the side to make room for a new customer. Not to mention that the waiter took ALL of our napkins and utensils from OUR table to give to the new guy. I strongly urged my husband to not make a scene and keep his cool. My husband had to physically get up and walk to a different table to grab new utensils and napkins. We received no apology for what he had done. Also, the wait was so long that the new customer got his food and finished it before we got ours. I wish the service was as good as the food, but I will never recommend this place or spend...
Read moreThere was a hair in my rice🥲 i was at the middle of my meal when i saw it and rushed to the restroom because hair really turns my stomach i told the staff about it and they didn’t do anything when i left the bathroom i immediately paid and left the restaurant they didn’t even offer to change the rice (even though i wouldn’t have accepted because it’s obviously not a clean restaurant) Apart from that the restaurant interior is really bad and has no taste like I’m sitting in a very cheap restaurant and i saw the kitchen behind the curtain not clean This was at lunch and now it’s dinner time and i still can’t eat because i keep remembering the short man hair sticking to the rice😭
This is a picture of the food before i found the hair i didn’t take a picture to the hair because i couldn’t look at it again but i did show it...

Besides the sheer authenticity of the Nepalese food being served, I also enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant. Needless to say, this type of food likely resonates more so with the foreigner population in Kyoto than the locals. I felt very much at home there ordering in English and behaving in the typical foreigner’s way. It felt festive, lively and warm in the restaurant, and that was what I needed after freezing at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple for the night scenery viewing.
Highly recommend. Perfect proof that foreign cuisine has a strong...
