I considered rating this 4 stars as I have had experiences I liked more at some other kimono rental places, but in the end I still think I had a really good experience worthy of 5 stars. I selected the Hakama package and I was quickly ready to be disappointed when the revealed they only had 3 Hakamas in my size. It also took a bit of persuading for them to allow me to pick out a kimono before deciding which Hakama I wanted. I did find their selection of kimonos excellent and I loved the one I picked out! Their staff was also very helpful in advising on the what else to pick out to complete my look. I think their hairdresser did the best job of any kimono rental place Iâve been to. I was a bit worried that the hairstyle I wanted wouldnât suit me, but she did a fantastic job! I just wish there had been a bit more flexibility in allowing me to pick out things that werenât included in my package as long as I was willing to pay the extra money. Other rental shops do this and I think it makes for a much better experience. But it didnât ruin things for me or anything. When I wanted some for the cold weather, the purple fur shawl they picked out with me looked great with my outfit! The handbag I picked out also had plenty of space and pockets for all my stuff, which was...

I booked the schedule on their website (easy to read and good guidance system) and no need to pay in advance, you can also change your plan when arrive.
They pay after you decided your items including hairstyle. This is great. I choose the âFull outfit plan „4980â and with a „1000 hairstyle. The kimono quality is very good. They wear it in a professional formal way.
Their Japanese socks and sandals are good. I walk from 10am to 5pm and they didnât cause any pain. My bag is also spacious to carry my passport, iPhone, charger, wallet, and other things like camera and lipstick.
It was 5-7C degrees so they offer free kimono coat. Some workers can speak English but some only Japanese. I arrive at 9am and
I spend 15 mins to select kimono and items, and finished dressing up at 10am. Great hairstyle. Very happy with it. This is definitely a must try if you ever come to Kyoto. I was about to apply the „880 service to return at different shop because I was afraid I could not make before 1800 to return, but the walking distance from this shop to Kiyomisu temple is just 15 mins. I made it at 17:15pm. I will come back if I travel to Kyoto...
Read moreA pleasant and enjoyable experience! The shop is right at the foot of the slope to Kiyomizu Temple where there are so many great places for photo taking. Once you step out of the shop, you're ready to head up!
The experience in the shop was also delightful. They were very patient and helpful to tourists which was a boon for people donning the kimono for the first time.
The kimonos were also very comfortable and beautiful with plenty of lovely designs to choose from. They also advised on the colour matching for the belts and accessories. Ladies got to chose a hairdo which was smoothly and well-done by their stylists.
I also bought a yukata from the shop at a very reasonable price („8800 + „300 because I needed larger slippers), which came in a set with a belt (obi) , a Japanese pouch (kago) and a pair of slippers (geta). After an experience with their kimonos, I was confident of the quality of the yukata that I would get from them.
Overall, an enjoyable experience that I would recommend to my friends and family!...
