As someone who loves pizza, visiting Pizzeria Napoletana Don Ciccio was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, the cozy, rustic ambiance transported me straight to Italy, setting the perfect mood for a relaxed meal.
The highlight, of course, was the pizza. I tried the classic Margherita, and it was nothing short of perfection. My friends ordered different pizzas and all was very tasty. The crust was soft yet slightly charred from the wood-fired oven, the tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, and the mozzarella melted in your mouth. Every bite felt authentic and full of heart.
What made this visit even more special was the exceptional service. The server who assisted me was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring every aspect of my meal was perfect. As a gesture of gratitude and to share a part of my culture, I gifted her a Dhaka topi—a traditional Nepali hat—as a souvenir from Nepal. It was my way of telling her about Nepal and sharing its charm everywhere I go.
The restaurant itself is conveniently located, making it an easy choice whether you’re out exploring Kyoto or planning a special dinner. If you’re searching for an authentic Neapolitan pizza experience in Kyoto, Don Ciccio is a must-visit. It’s a place where tradition, flavor, and hospitality come together perfectly. I can’t...
Read moreKyoto’s #1 Pizzeria, Mercato, shut down earlier this year. But worry not! It’s DNA was transplanted to “Pizzeria Napoletana Don Ciccio” in South Kyoto. To Chuchojima’s historic center. The compact menu doesn’t confuse, it delivers. The finest Margarita di Buffola and above. The Antipasto are top notch as are the salads. The staff at Mercato always went out of their way to make it a great experience and this hasn’t changed either. Family friendly. This is...
This is what we call "pizza" in Italy. It's delicious, huge, and inexpensive (reasonable) ! I think it's usually more cost-effective than home-delivery pizza (ie, Pizza hut). They seem to bake the pizzas to order, so until then, it's nice to have a glass of wine and an appetizer to pick at. If you have a hard time with that time, you might want to avoid it. Also, the waitresses are a bit hard to notice, so you may need to raise your hand in the Japanese way when you want to add wine or something (that's why I'm giving it a -1). By the way, there was also grappa! Overall, I am satisfied and will definitely come back again. Thanks...
