While searching for an Indian restaurant near our hotel in Kyoto, we found many options within walking distance. But we decided to try Royal Taj Mahal Indian.Nepali Restaurant, and honestly, it was the best decision we made!
Right from the moment we entered, the hospitality and the respectful way the staff spoke to us really stood out. It felt warm and welcoming, just like home. We told them we prefer spicy food, and they customized every dish exactly to our taste — perfectly spicy and full of flavor!
The food was so good that we ended up visiting this place for 3 days in a row, at least once a day. We didn’t even feel like trying any other restaurant after that.
One of the best parts? They made tea just the way we like it — exactly how we explained. It felt like a small thing, but it made a big difference.
Also, the person in the photo didn’t just give great service at the restaurant, he also helped us with local travel tips and guidance, which was very helpful. The rest of the team was also very polite and kind, but we interacted with him the most.
Overall, if you're in Kyoto and looking for authentic Indian/Nepali food with excellent service and a personal touch, don’t miss this place. Highly...
Read moreDuring our stay in Kyoto, Japan, we had the pleasure of dining at Royal Taj Mahal, and it truly felt like a slice of home. As visitors from India, we were craving authentic Indian cuisine after being away for so long. This restaurant exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and politeness. The staff was incredibly accommodating, even customizing our orders to adjust the spice levels to our liking. The tea reminded us of home, bringing back fond memories.
We were so impressed with our first meal that we returned regularly for both breakfast and dinner. The chef, originally from Nepal, has worked in various countries and has been with Royal Taj Mahal for the last four years. His dedication to providing a remarkable dining experience is evident, and his friendly demeanor made every visit enjoyable. I have an added photo who...
Read moreReview: Chicken Biryani & Tandoori Chicken
I tried the chicken biryani and tandoori chicken, and both were really tasty.
The chicken biryani was full of flavor, with nicely spiced rice and tender chicken. It had a great aroma, and every bite had a good mix of spices—not too spicy, just right. It also came with some raita, which made it even better.
The tandoori chicken was juicy and had a nice smoky flavor from the grill. The outside was a little crispy, and the inside was soft and well-cooked. The marinade gave it a nice kick without being too strong.
Overall, I really enjoyed both dishes. If you like flavorful Indian food, these are definitely worth trying and coming here overall the best Indian restaurant I ever been to and we be going a...
