Saami — Restaurant in Kyoto

This exclusive restaurant is in a very nice location with temples and mountains surrounded. the presentation of the food was ok and to be expected at this price level. The taste of each dish wash at maximum average. white fish was overcooked and dry, dashi soup was not really tasty. total size of the menu was also not a lot compared to other similar restaurants. the hot towel was served on a plastic tray which is a no go for a place like this. they forgot to serve wasabi with the sashimi. they forgot to serve us tea (!!!!) and we had to ask for something to drink after 3 courses. for a lunch set priced at 12,000++ Yen they should offer so much more. work harder on presentation and improve their service by 500%. We had an amazing experience at Saami during a weekend in Kyoto. The building is beautiful and located in a gorgeous park. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. And the food was absolutely amazing. It was our first Kaiseki experience, and every course was delicious. We went for lunch, and it was the perfect amount of food.
