Unfortunately we were not impressed with our visit for lunch a few days ago.

When we (two people) walked in, instead of offering us a table for two (of which there were still available), the hostess decided to seat us at a weird glass table that had peeling plastic on it. At first I thought maybe those other tables were reserved, but the Japanese couple behind us pointed at one and was seated there. What would make staff think we would rather sit at a glass, peeling table..?

Their menu is printed on a newspaper. It looks kind of vintage and it's a cool idea. Unfortunately our newspaper was very run down and I can only imagine the amount of hands it has passed through without being able to get cleaned.

We both ordered smoothies. One mango and one banana. The banana one was filled to the brim of the cup. The mango one was about 3/4 full. Both were very thick. So thick that you couldn't suck them up through the straw they gave. It wasn't a smoothie but fruit blended and poured in a cup without juice or milk used at all. Ridiculous.

Onto the food: The salmon slice still had a bunch of bones in it. We counted about ten that I fished out and probably a few more that I swallowed.. The chicken curry had maybe 3 pieces of chicken in it and the curry was more or Kurma. Both dished were unimpressive to say the least.

Maybe their bread and baked goods are better than their lunch menu. We don't know because by the time we were there at noon, they were out of everything baked.

I wouldn't come back here and wouldn't recommend the place. I'm sure there are better options in the...

On their menu they have their toast listed specifically how you want it prepared. If you want butter with your toast you have to order toast & butter. But the toast with butter only comes with a teeny tiny square of butter served in the middle of the toast that is insufficient to cover a quarter of your toast even when spreading sparingly. If you ask for more butter they say you have to order and pay for it. You have to use your phone and scan the code at your table to order the extra butter with their app. Then you have to wait in line at the counter to pay for the butter before they will even start to prepare it. By the time you get the extra butter You will have cold toast. I’m okay paying extra if I order anything extra but I ordered toast with butter so I expect it to come with enough butter to cover the whole slice of toast. At the end of our meal we went to the counter to order a chocolate banana muffin to take away. The person at the register confirmed we wanted it take away and we said yes. I watched them prepare it. They took one of the muffins that were individually wrapped at the counter, They took the muffin out of the wrapper and placed it on a plate. I reminded them that we had ordered it take away and they said they couldn’t accommodate me because I didn’t pay the take away price even though I clearly asked for it take away before I paid. Not sure why their prices would...

We will never come here again. And if you go here, you will definitely come back with regrets. There are four of us in our group and we wanted to order a lot of food for six, but the waitress refused to listen and went to the table for four. After a while, two white foreigners came in and we took them to the table for six, which we were not going to. We had already told them several times that the food we had ordered would not be able to put all on our table for four, but the waitress didn't change the table as if we didn't know. In the end, the food was not enough space and we were told to hold it and eat it. Eventually, when I got angry and complained, I told them to move the table only then. But they didn't move and told us to move to that place, and we were just watching. When we asked again to come and eat NATO, we asked them to not take chopsticks because they had forks, and the food was all salty. Salads are full of salt. For them, the customer seems to be a nuisance. I don't care about the effort to study...

Placed our group of four on the wait-list, were called after a short while. Cold, rainy day. Walked in and started to sit at an empty, clean four-top in the warm, bright, half occupied restaurant. Was told NO in a strict voice and shown to a cold, windy table behind a courtyard by the toilets. I would have left, but the rest of my party wanted to stay. Perhaps because we were a mixed American/Filipino group, but staff seemed aggressive and disrespectful. I ordered the vegetable curry, served with a small side of fresh but cold sprouts, carrots and a green of some sort. The curry itself was several levels below what you'd find at a 7-11. My companions all had salmon and liked it OK. We can do well without restaurants like this, can they do well without us? Pics are of the view from our table (toilets) and through a courtyard to the restaurant we thought we were eating in☹️ Choose this unfriendly, mediocre place at your own risk. Lika Inoue, is this how you wish your name to be associated? Please do better.

TL;DR - good food, tea, & coffee. Nice vibe, fun details Stopped in for breakfast and had the set meal with salmon. The pickles were great, not too sour, and acidic enough to balance the deep umami and saltiness of the salmon. The rice was also excellent; delicate, but pronounced flavor that complemented the pickles and fish. I also really enjoyed the miso soup, which I’d never had with onions before. The interior is mostly concrete, but the way that things are arranged throughout give it a cozy vibe, as do the menus, which at first glance, I thought were newspapers. The green tea had a great mouthfeel and was brewed very well, bringing out the flavor but not the astringency or fishiness that is so common in green teas at cafes in the US. I enjoyed the coffee too, though I tend not to prefer dark roasts. This coffee was quite dark, and bitter in a very pleasing way that complimented the nutty and caramel notes of the beans. I’d come here again, for sure.
