Suminokuchi — Restaurant in Kyoto

By far the best meal we had during our whole trip in Japan.

We both have very limited Japanese and sort of just guessed on the menu, and every single dish was delicious.

The waitress was incredibly accommodating and helped to translate different items into English and the chef brought such a great energy. All the meats were delicious - make sure to try the sausage! And don’t get me started on the fried corn!

They even played music just for us!

予約をせず行ったのが悪かったのか一組しかおられなかったのに入らないなや店員さんの態度が無愛想。店員さんも1人しかおられず切羽詰まられていたのか席に案内されメニューの説明などもなく飲み物はと聞かれてちょっとメニューを見ていると後で来ますとすぐ立ち去って行かれた。もう少し説明があってもいい気がした。そしてメニューが少ない。事前に調べてみていた串などはなく2件目で行くのならつまみとしてちょうどいいのかな、、という感じ。最初に1時間後ぐらいにもう1人追加で来ると思うと伝えてたがお通し（さつまいもの揚げ物）をまとめて最初に3人分持ってこられた。そしてやっぱり来れなくなったのにお通し代はしっかりもらわれていて一言もなし。食べたから仕方がないとも思うが揚げ物をまだ来てない人の分まで出すのはどうなのか。そもそも来てない人のお通しは先出しておくのか、ましてや席チャージ500円と書かれているので席は座っていないのに席チャージ料をとるのか。総じて店員さんの感じが悪すぎて居心地がとても悪かった。セセリの唐...
