This was the best dining experience ever! The owner and his wife are such sweet people, very attendant and kind. Not only did we have the chance to paint our own matcha bowl, we also finished the dinner with drinking matcha from our own decorated bowl! The food was delicious and all the beautiful ceramics used were handmade by the owner, so talented! After dinner they invited us outside to enjoy the full moon together. Such a special and enjoyable moment! The service was immaculate, they were very detail oriented and so welcoming. Even though the owner apologised to us for not speaking English well, he tried his best to communicate with us and we could still understand him and his wife. When they heard it was my friends’ birthday, they surprised her with some fireworks and even a birthday gift! All in all, it is totally worth it to pay them a visit if you want a memorable experience in Kyoto (before they move to Hawaii).Thank you again and hope to see you soon in Hawaii.

Loved this place! Our night began with Chef Ito (master potter) showing us how to decorate matcha bowls that we would then have fired and given to us for our very own. He made it look so easy, his paint strokes simple but delicate and confident. I gave it a try but soon realized my skill lacked a lot. I was still able to form a cute design though. Then, came an amazing meal of beef dishes, each one inventive and delicious, highlighting beef in numerous ways. Whether it was a tender piece of steak or the cutest mini hamburger, we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Each dish was meticulously plated on dishes that Chef Ito himself had made and each piece was a superb work of art. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Chef Ito and his wife are the nicest people ever! They kept up a lively conversation that made the dinner so much fun. We will truly treasure our bowls and the memories we made that night.

Incredibly delightful culinary experience in Kyoto! A uniquely standout experience to end our day exploring Kyoto, beginning with serene pottery painting and following with an expertly & meticulously crafted series of savory and sweet dishes. Each dish was presented beautifully & followed with a “wow” from my group :) The array of courses were substantially varied & filling, ending with a refreshing citrus dessert and traditional tea ceremony with the chef himself. Without a doubt recommend to anyone in the area for a memorable evening with the most accommodating and warm staff for a beyond reasonable price point, especially coming from NYC!
