We walked into this small and very simple restaurant. It’s long and narrow and you go through the kitchen, which we were a little wary of. No more than 6 tables and a smiley local Japanese-Italian speaking owner greeted us. In retrospect we mistakenly thought we are entering another restaurant for pizza, but at that situation, we did not know.
The menu was set for 3 types of lunch menus for pasta. Not a lot of options either… We took the simplest one being unsure of the place… It was a total surprise!! While the Caprease salad was very simple, the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The pasta (tomatoes and black olives) was cooked to perfection and felt home-made. The small bread buns were delicious and straight from the oven. The pineapple sorbet was the best we have had in Japan (and in general one of the top).
The owner went out of his way to “host” us while preparing our lunch. He was extremely nice and friendly, despite exchanging very small amount of English words. We understood each other well.
