Yakiniku Daikoku Ebisu — Restaurant in Kyoto

I cannot recommend this place enough! Amazing bbq place in Kyoto, definitely a hidden gem. We happened to walk past this place at around 7.40pm, there were 4 empty seats at the counter so there was no wait. The quality of the meat (wagyu) is amazingly good and I very much recommend the Loin cut and beef tongue. The wagyu uni bowl is small but only 880 yen and very fresh quality.

We spent around 17500 for 2 people but we did get many dishes plus 2 beer (photos do not show all) and we were both extremely full. Ordering and keeping track of spending is easy with QR code given to you.

There are individual air vents above the stoves at the counter seating so there’s not too much smoke (many of the bbq places I went to lack the individual air vents and the whole place can be filled with smoke) and the place is very cool with air...

Had dinner here - was delicious and fun to do. We had the meat platter and various vegetables and salad. All very flavoursome and filling. We arrived at opening, were the first ones there and it filled up quickly so if it’s empty when you arrive we’d suggest you grab the opportunity! There’s a counter downstairs and tables upstairs so if there’s availability you can choose what suits you best. We were looked after by Takuya (I think that was his name!).
