Master’s Dream House Kyoto — Restaurant in Kyoto

Located in a white art deco building, this bar / restaurant is rather busy and would recommend booking. We had a 2015 booking but rocked up at 1920 and we were given options of the bar seating or the high table seating- opted for the high table.

Ordering system via a QR code. Had the beer tasting of 4 beers- nice selection. The whiskey soda was very good- Chita whiskey.

We had a few plates: wagyu was good but quite fatty meat. The white fish with aubergine was good with some salad on the top.

The highlight has to be the scrimp with corn fritters- excellent albeit oily.

The fish and chips was more fish gijon with potato wedges.

Good service.

Food was good, prices good too especially when it’s located in a nice hotel in a prime location, would have given 4 stars maybe 5 stars but it lacks atmosphere and more annoyingly was told no tables available and offered seats at back of bar near the sink.

There were 5 free tables when we got there and 6 free when we left. To not be offered a table is ridiculous, would have given a 1 star for that alone but given food and service was otherwise good 3 star...

Located ideally in Gion district right next to the old district of Kyoto. Surrounded by many bar en restaurants. The place is spacious with comfortable seating. You can order your food using a QR code in English. All the food and drinks we add was really good. We had pasta, wagyu Sando and Tuna. For drinks they have a large selection of beers and spirits. Service is great and the manager really helpful....
