Muslim friendly stall near Kyoto University. Make sure you have made a reservation the day before to get a bento or eat halal food on that date. The place is quite small, run by a warm and sweet couple who were attentive to our food preferences, especially as we are Muslim. They try to get halal ingredients in places that are also recommended by fellow Muslims. The owner was very close to the customers, making casual conversation, trying to learn each of us by name, and taking photos of us to display on their gallery board. Really enjoyed this vegan sushi dinner set! This was my first time trying vegan sushi, and I was genuinely impressed. The presentation was beautiful and everything tasted great. All parts of the set were well-prepared - the appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The tofu with soy milk cheese sushi was really unique! I'm a big fan of soy milk and tofu, so I definitely enjoyed that one. They also had bell pepper and onion sushi, which I wasn't sure about at first, but I tried them with an open mind and was surprised that I actually liked them. The focus here is vegetables (and vegetarian/vegan meals are always available), allergy sensitivities (gluten-free, dairy free, etc.) and homemade obanzai, including fresh sesame tofu (my personal favorite).
