Yoshida-ya — Restaurant in Kyoto

It was a crowded day at lunch in Arashiyama and luckily Yoshida-ya has plenty of available seats on the 2F. Most of the tourists were eating at the food court or lining up at the snack kiosk, so if you're looking for a "meal", this is a good option.

I enjoyed my wagyu beef bowl, it was filling but nothing special. Just rice, meat and fresh egg (fried rice). Their cold soba is good too. We sat facing the window and we got a good view of the street filled with tourists and the rickshaw drivers.

Great place in the middle of the busy street of Arashiyama, Kyoto. The food was super tasty, well cooked and of very high quality. The lady staffs were extremely good and made us feel very comfortable amongst so many local tourists. The pricing was very good and the menu has English titles. We throughly enjoyed everything, tempura with soba was very tasty and fresh, udon in chicken and leek soup was equally good and the fried chicken set was excellent. The hot sake was fantastic too !! Found this cozy soba/udon store along the main street of Arashiyama on a rainy day. The staff was very accommodating and the place was very homey. Would’ve wanted to sit by the window but I guess it was full. The restroom was also surprisingly super clean and modern-looking. The food is as good as it gets— rich, umami, not overly salty broth with bouncy udon noodles. After paying your bill, they even offer you candy from this little machine. So cute!...
