OBU CAFE — Restaurant in Kyoto

Waited for almost an hour, staff kept clearing and cleaning tables but not letting anyone in. When staff finally let us in, they did not offer any apology or explanation as to why they took so long. I feel that staff could have explained to us while we were queueing if they were facing any understaffing or any problems so we are able to gauge our time and not wait in vain for an unknown period of time. The service staff were very inexperienced and provided TERRIBLE service. The few people who were already seated also took a long time to receive their order. Many people left the queue to go to the restaurant beside them, which we did so too, and we were offered much better service and immediate seating. Please do not waste your time going to this place and go to the restaurant next...

For nearly half an hour, a nearly empty restaurant had dirty tables and a line of more than 10 people waiting to be seated in it. Wait staff made no effort to clean the tables and seat the customers waiting with the front door propped open, allowing the air conditioning to spill outside.

I was at the front of the line of people waiting to be seated, and after I and the rest of the customers were seated, wait staff began serving out of order. That’s when I walked out.

Watching a restaurant be inefficiently run felt like torture. I’m not asking for 5 star service. But this restaurant looks like it’s being run by literal elementary...

There is false information in two price liats outside this coffee shop. The green tea with Japanese sweets seems to be 600/yen. But in the menu inside the shop it turns to 800/yen. When I told them, they said that the information outside was wrong. This is cheating and attracting customers with false information. HOWEVER after having written and posted this, when I was going to pay I explained the issues about false information to the lady apparently in charge there. She was grateful for letting her know about that, and only charged the price indicated outside (600 yen), and apologised. I must say that the green tea and sweets...
