Ippudo — Restaurant in Matsuyama

I visited here twice on my trip to Matsuyama. It’s really comfortable as a foreign tourist because you can order from the tablet in various languages.

The staff was different each time, but they were all nice. In particular, the first time I visited, all the staff including the chefs were women, and they were all smiling a lot and seemed happy. It was a really comfortable atmosphere.

I always order extra green onion but I think the amount they give at Ippudo is small… so during my second visit, after I received my ramen, I decided to order a second serving of extra green onion. International-friendly; order items from a multilingual tablet. Has 1, 2, 4, 8-tops. Toppings are mostly ordered a la carte, so if you don't like certain things, it comes out a lot cheaper. (Don't like seaweed? No problem!)

Great flavor, doesn't come out feeling too heavy and oily. Uses thin noodles, and the firm noodles, especially on a refill, are very firm; I'd recommend al dente/medium. Base order with no toppings feels a bit small, so expect to get at least half an extra order of noodles... which still makes it cheaper than a bowl with standard toppings.

Would definitely go again the next time...

Very nice ramen restaurant in Matsuyama city center. They offer mainly different kinds of tonkotsu ramen, and all the ones we tried were excellent. Portion are large, and cheap ramen "refills" (kaedama) are available.
