Lovely and friendly Italian place near Zenkoji temple. We felt so fortunate that they welcomed us after we were turned away at a few other restaurants for Monday lunch. There were three types of pasta to choose from (chicken with tomato cream sauce, fish and bacon) and it comes with an appetizer of delicious focaccia and soup. First of all, my baby didn’t put the shoes on the table—he just accidentally hit it, not on purpose.
Also, my baby was just being talkative, and you kept looking at him, right? Even though we weren’t in anyone’s way, and we knew customers were walking by, you still said, じゃまにならないで (“Don’t be in the way”). You kept glancing at us, and even though we had just started playing a video on my phone at a very low volume, you made another comment, right?
And while we were still talking, you suddenly interrupted with そろそろ会計ですか?(“Shall we settle the bill soon?”). Is that really how you treat your customers?
Your restaurant may be popular now, but don’t be so sure it will stay that way if you let it get to your head. Stay grounded and treat your customers with respect. My baby did nothing wrong, and neither did we.
