One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Japan. Bulan Bali is a small but very atmospheric restaurant serving Indonesian food. Despite having visited Indonesia in the past, I am in no way an expert on the food. But one feature that stands out is that the variety of spices is amazing, every dish had a different type. One spice has an emphasis on onion, another has an emphasis on peanuts and so on. The simple presentation really helped - unpretentious and quickly prepared, this is the real deal. Meat is halal if that’s your thing, but there is also alcohol available. We did a deep dive and ordered quite a lot and left feeling full and satisfied. The service was fast. The Indonesian staff are very friendly and talkative, they’ll accommodate requests and they’re happy to stop for a chat about the food. They speak English too. All in all, a great experience and a place I’d be happy to go back to. As always, be aware that it can get expensive if you like to get a broad slice of the menu, but there are some set courses that might save you a few yennies....
Read moreThe restaurant is located on the main road which makes it very easy to find and at a corner. The inside is well decorated and you fell immersed into their culture right away. Understanding Japanese property dimensions, it is fairly large but I wish they had more space for a better entrance as it is still close to the street. They have four floors.
The staff spoke little Japanese and then little English, which was a real pity as I wanted to learn more about their culture. I tried to talk with other customers but no one spoke Japanese, oh well.
They have a large and very nice counter to order drinks.
The shop offers relaxation services and holds native events that involve belly dancers. They offer group meals for minimum of four as well as the usual single dishes. I ordered the Indonesian teishoku, it was sufficient and spicy. We ordered tropical cocktails but they didn’t resemble the images on the menu. Prices...

Good food, great service, and happy moment.
Located in Central area of Sakae, easily reachable from public transportation. Easily found as they raise Indonesian flag in front of the door.
There are 2-stair dinning areas, first and second floor.
The Resto offers Baliness traditional dishes, a bit spicy for somehow. Really love the way they serve, offer, and explained the various menus.
Affordable, particularly when we ask for package dishes.
Tasteful... Just wondering how they could find raw material ingredients to have them well served.
Halal, well recommended for any moslems looking for permittable courses around the city.
Amazingly... They plant Lidah Buaya, Aloe Vera sp., here.
Terima kasih atas pelayanannya, akan kembali lagi kesini...
