I discovered this hidden, understated yet distinctive eatery near my hotel in the center of Nagoya. It’s an easy walk from the popular Central Park/TV tower/Art center district.
It’s located on the second floor of the condominium and unfortunately there’s no elevator access to this charming restaurant. First, I’ve never seen a Romanian cuisine in Japan before. I googled the restaurant in a few minutes walking distance from the hotel and this place caught my eye. It’s basically a healthy Mediterranean cousins that somewhat reminds me of Greek, Turkish or Lebanese dishes. For instance, there are dishes similar to Baba Ghanoush, Dormades or Kofta with a twist, and they are all tasty.
But here’s a kick. The cook was the owner herself who is a very welcoming, entertaining, super genuine and fun personality.
My first choice of the food in any foreign nation is a Lebanese or other Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food and if you like these dishes, you won’t be disappointed.
But if you have not tried those foods I mentioned, this is a good introduction to explore your taste buds.
I’m not a drinker, but I believe she offers an extensive and excellent wine selections knowing that there was a serious electric wine vault by the Karaoke stage, yes they are equipped with a Karaoke machine to entertain patrons to boost your ego!
I’m a major airline flight attendant traveling all over the world tasting a variety of cousins, and I highly recommend this hidden treasure when you visit...
Read moreI went with my girlfriend who is Romanian and she confirmed that all the food was authentic. It had a nice and relaxing atmosphere, polite service and the food was absolutely fantastic, especially the meat and the sarmale.
The owner, Lily-san, was very welcoming and by the end of the dinner we also talked to her for a while as she kinda welcomed us to Nagoya since we recently moved to the city.
The price was fair for what we ate and we'll be definitely coming back, I want to try...
