This is the cutest sushi shop. Maybe 3 tables in traditional Japanese seating area and 8-10 seats along the bar. Run by a sweet older couple, one is the sushi chef and the other is the hostess/waitress. The sushi itself was delicious and high quality at a very reasonable price - and very simple to order: "very special, special or medium" is all you need to say.
The atmosphere was extremely calming. No music, just quiet chatter amongst the tables and people enjoying sushi.
The other thing that was nice: it seemed like locals coming in were people who knew the owners, which gave the place a very good sense of community, felt nice to be a part of it for a meal.
It's definitely worth your time to come have sushi here if...
Read moreDelicious food in a clean and traditional japanese sushi bar! For the Japan experience this is a place to dine. The owners, an older couple, are really friendly and offer no nonsens food. They warn you up front that cash payment is possible only, so no credit cards. I got the expensive set of ¥1900 which includes miso soup too. In the picture the Tamagoyaki nigiri (with egg) is missing, but this is the extra special set. I really enjoyed it and the portions of fish are really generous and high quality! The set contained lean and fatty tuna, Norwegian salmon, sea urchin, egg, squid, fish egg, sea brass, shrimp, conger eel (keep for the last, really delicious!) and some...
Read moreA traditional sushi Omakase place, non descript and low key. And that’s why it’s charming. The owner and sushi master has a head of white hair and though he doesn’t understand English, he communicated with me through gestures and signs. The sushi was very decent.: I chose the extra special set (the best) and even then it only costs 1900 yen for all you see in the picture (and more that I didn’t manage to take). Ordered a 300ml sake that was yummy as well and that was 1300 yen. For the quality and the excellent traditional ambience, it’s well worth visiting. They also have some tatami seatings for...
