Well furnished cafe with great location. Next to a bus stop, 3 mins walk from the kasugataisha shrine. Would be the best cafe in the mount Wakakusa area if it provides NORMAL service. After we finished our orders at the entry and walked into the dining hall, no one told us where to sit. We preferred window seats and there was only one vacant, uncleared table near window, on which there was a plastic tray. We moved the tray to another uncleared table. Then a young server came, saying “no, no, clean” and driving us away from the seats. We thought she’s gonna clean the table, but she just left a wet cloth on it and walked away. It was only until we chose another table and got our food from another waitress that she returned and started cleaning. After she cleared the table, the waitress said nothing to us. I couldn’t help asking her in Japanese “ can we use that table now?” Luckily this time we got her permission. I first helped my friend move her food and water glass to the window seats, during which no servers came to help. When I returned, although my tray was still on the table, the waitress was cleaning it with her dirty cloth and alcohol spray. I said nothing at that time because of the presence of my friend, who was really enjoying her first visit to Japan. This waitress is the most rude person I have ever met during my one-year stay in Japan and my third trip to Nara. I don’t think she should be in business.
Read moreI went to this place after visiting Kasuga Taisha, and now I’m wondering why this place had such bad review, even though for me it’s not that bad
Yes, the food here is on a bit expensive side (especially the coffee float in this image), but overall the taste was not bad, at least as me as a foreigner. The service is also okay, or at least it doesn’t require much service, and the staff is not rude at all (that’s right). The space is comfortable though. At least I would...
Read moreThere is a staff named yamamura (山村) who didn't use the polite expressions (敬語)to me, but I heared she used the polite expressions to every other guests. May be she thought I can't understand Japanese well. It's shame. Most Japanese are very nice, but it changes my impression of Japanese...
