Savant — Restaurant in Nara

We were about to leave Nara but decided to stay a bit longer to check out the area and stumbled upon this place. It’s hidden away without any signs, giving a very speakeasy vibe. The interior has a very high class traditional Japanese feel to it. There’s no menus but the bartenders are happy to recommend you a custom cocktail to your liking. They speak English and are very foreigner friendly but due to limited seating, I would not come with a large group. Drinks were very reasonably priced for the this sort of establishment. Can’t recommend this spot enough. We’re American tourists, Found this spot on Google maps due to great reviews and pictures.

After entering, we were initially nervous that we were going to be a bother. The bar felt so upscale and everyone else there appeared local.

However both Bartenders were immediately so kind and put us at ease. We gave bartenders flavors and spirits we were interested in trying, and they proposed cocktail options to match. Got 5 drinks ~9000 yen

Our favorite authentic bar in our house. After dinner or according to your taste, the chic master will serve you an enchanting cocktail with a shaker while cracking witty jokes.
