Great Food, Affordable Price, and Excellent Service – Even for Non-Japanese Speakers!

I had a great dining experience at Katsuya Narita Higashimachi Store. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered a pork rice bowl, and although the flavor was mild, it was still perfectly balanced and very enjoyable.

What impressed me the most was the staff’s service. Despite not being fluent in English—and me not speaking any Japanese at all—they were very kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. I noticed that some reviews mentioned that staff don’t pay much attention to foreign customers, but that wasn’t the case for me at all. I felt very well taken care of.

Ordering is simple. If you want takeout, you can place your order using the touchscreen monitor near the entrance. If you prefer to dine in, just find an empty table and the staff will come to take your order. There’s an English menu available at the table, and the staff will also serve complimentary tea. When you’re done eating, take the bill to the counter next to the ordering screen to pay. They accept credit cards and Apple Pay too.

This restaurant specifically at this area was my number 1 worst in customer service to foreigners like me. I went here with my churchmates and the staff wasn't welcoming. 1st, she talked to us in a rude way which is unusual for a Japanese. next, when we are done eating, she was acting as if she wanted us to go and pay quickly even though there aren't customers to follow. So we just stood up and pay for our bills and waited outside for other friends to finish. Suddenly, I think the head or chef came up to us and just told us that we are JAMA! meaning we are in the way for customers who wants to come inside. He even said it unpolitely. so I think this restaurant's staffs were racist. So it was too much so we gave our comments and answered back. they were really rude to foreign customers. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! 家族で食事に伺いました。事前にいくつか「店員の態度が悪い」という口コミを見て少し心配していましたが、実際に訪れてみると、店員さんたちはただ若くて少し控えめなだけで、とても丁寧で親切でした。

例えば、長女が日本の飲食店でよく出されるお茶の味に慣れておらず、今回は飲まなかったのですが、料理が運ばれてきたときには彼女のトレーに自然と冷たい水が添えられていて、その気遣いにとても驚きました。些細なことかもしれませんが、とても温かく、心配りを感じる瞬間でした。

お会計の際には次回使える割引券も渡していただき、外国人だからといって特別な対応をされることもなく、気持ちよく食事を終えることができました。料理もとても美味しかったです。

次に日本を訪れる際も、ぜひまた立ち寄りたいと思います！本当におすすめのお店です。

We visited this restaurant as a family. Before coming, I saw some reviews mentioning that the staff were unfriendly, so I was a little concerned. But in reality, the staff were just young and perhaps a bit reserved—not overly enthusiastic, but definitely attentive and kind.

For example, my eldest daughter isn’t used to the tea commonly served in Japanese restaurants, so she chose not to drink it. But when her meal arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see that a glass of cold water had been thoughtfully placed on her tray. It was a small gesture, but it showed how considerate the staff were—even if they weren’t the most expressive.

At the register, they also offered us a discount coupon for our next visit, and we were treated just like any other local customer. No difference in attitude just because we’re foreigners.
