クワタイ — Restaurant in Niigata

Thai students took me there for real Thai just like they have at home. A Thai lady, they call her Oka-san or Mom, runs herself so we often help table setting, etc. Do not expect a fancy restaurant but the real local hotpot, somtam, gapao, patthai. You can ask to adjust the chilli for local hot or mild. A small counter with chairs and tatami-mat tables. The owner lady speaks simple Japanese but not sure for English. 最初の団子のような見た目の 料理はタイ北部の伝統料理。 表面の粒々はタピオカで、 中に甘い煮付けた挽肉が 入っています。

食べられる時間が短いため 前日に予約をしておかないと 食べられない一品になって います。

レモングラスの効いたスープ に豚肉に卵黄を潜らせ入れて 食べる鍋やパクチー卵とじも 美味しいです。

自家製のジャーキーは甘すぎ ずしっかりとした歯応えで キンキンに冷えたビールと よく合います。
