After travelling around Japan and being spoilt by all sorts of amazing restaurants, this place is a disgrace to Japan.
The breakfast buffet is terrible, old stale disgusting food that was put out. It looks like a great spread of international cuisine at first glance but everything except the juice and water was not palatable.
The restaurant staff wasn't very accommodating either. For such an expensive hotel (as it was ski in ski out) I expected much more as this is the only restaurant in the resort and in the area. Guests have no where to eat unless they take the bus or taxi to go find food.
I tried to borrow 2 plates to reheat food (microwave provided by hotel) the manager of Goshiki treated me like a thief and refused. THIS IS A 4 STAR RESORT. 2 plates? So insulting I cannot say I have much respect for the manager after this episode. The hotel bar was far more friendly and gave me 2 snack bowls as that was what they only had.
YTL, you have to take a deep look at your f&b outlet, your only restaurant and you can do so much better especially when you are charging ridiculous rates and your guests have no where else to eat. The effort put up by this restaurant is abysmal.
Edit: Being next to a gondola station and ski run, you would expect it to cater to skiiers and a place to sit and catch your breath or for non skiiers to wait for their family to return from skiing. It's undoubtedly the MOST HOSTILE PLACE I've come across in the WORLD. Staff here are Japanese from Hell. My family got kicked out for wanting to rest there for 5 mins. They told us we have to order something. You are supposed to be a ski station are you not? If not, why not? Why not earn revenue all day instead of your current terrible operation whatever that maybe. Inconceivable.
At dinner time there's only 2 tables out of perhaps 30 tables occupied. Does that tell you something? Most restaurants in Niseko are bursting at the seams.
I can only give 1 star but if I could, it should be negative 100 stars.
This is also my most negative review of all my reviews on...
Read moreI had a stay here in February where it is already at a peak level of guests coming in for breakfast. Service of buffet is as expected and more efficient than where I was from. The complains in other reviews was not faced by me and my friends and we had an pleasant stay. In fact, we are returning for another stay in 2026.
The food provided are as expected and is not as bad as what other reviews here say. This is a restaurant and people have businesses to operate. If everyone is here to sit after skiing, perhaps these people should get down from their high horse and have a little wake up call to head over to their lobby instead of a restaurant.
Positive things to note for me was the milk provided for breakfast. The quality tastes very similar to what I had in Milk Kobo, it was very wonderful.
Out of topic since everyone ties in this restaurant with the hotel, the service by the hotel was superb and I did not face any form of disrespect. Perhaps in Feb 2025, things has changed for the better since then. As mentioned, I will return for 2026 due to the wonderful...
Read moreThe food is all fried and packaged. And 90% of the food includes pork. Nothing is tasty and fresh. Because it seems all restaurants in Niseko have frozen meals I was not going to put a bad review. However, the service is terrible. One day during breakfast we were still eating and they cleaned up the table and throw away our personal stuff that we left on the table at one moment we went to the buffet. Later the same day we stopped at the restaurant in the afternoon to eat a snack that we brought, and they said we couldn’t do that as we were not paying for anything from their menu. I get rules are different in different countries but in America that would never happen in a ski station . First, the restaurant was empty. Second, we are guests at the hotel. Third, we had other meals there before. Just so disrespectful to tell your guest to...
