At first look the hostel was very ugly and untidy but we were thinking would be fine if the rest of the place was ok. He show us our beds, one of them hadn't been done so I had to move to another room, separated from my friends, but, such a thing did not matter if I could feel comfortable. But nothing at all. The hostel, apart from being untidy was dirty, very dirty. And there was almost not space for the luggage or your things, not a locker, not a safe place. The rooms where full of beds, and it was difficult to pass through them. The toilet and the shower were in disgusting conditions. I could just find one towel, my friends had to dry themselves with their used t-shirts. The only place to leave the luggage was in the middle of a corridor that anyone from the bar (so also people from outside the hostel) could came and steal your belongings, as well as, going to your room, to your bed...
Sockets next to the tap, strong chemicals under the sink so anyone can take it and use it. And the laundry was an incredible mess. I took some pictures so you can compare with those ones from booking. They are absolutely different. I am really disappointed about this. I can not understand how is possible this hotel had good references and how is possible it is been offered in the booking site. It is the first time something like this happen and I hope the last. For me was looking like they were doing the maximum of customers with the minimum of workers, cleaning and other services. Yes, basically a fraud.
We slept the first night because it was 1 a.m. and we had no place to go. The following morning I booked to another hotel. We left at 10:30 approximately but it was nobody we could talk to. 4 new customers arrived to the hostel and also them could not find anybody. It was so sad to see those people sitting down in the dirty stairs, kepping calling the hostel with no answer and do not knowing what to do. The owner was probably sleeping after finishing late at the bar, which was still open at 3 p.m. making a lot of noise, and not letting the customers sleep and rest like in a normal place.
I can not expect these kind of conditions in a hostel specially in a country like Japan. Specially having used an platform like booking, which I trusted. I lost a lot time trying to figure out what to do o not. And also in that moment ruined my travel in Japan which was...
Read moreOverall the hostel was good, but did not exceed my expectations. ||- Rooms/Bunks: The location of the bunks are about a 25 stair climb from the entrance, so if you're not very mobile then it may not be the best option. I would recommend picking a bed on the bottom of the bunks as the access to get to the top bunk is bit difficult. The curtain and 2 electrical power sockets provided are really useful. The hostel also provides a pillow, blanket and a towel free of charge. Additionally, the WIFI was good but a bit slow at times and kept dropping out. ||- Toilet/Bathroom: there is only 1 toilet, 1 shower and 1 sink (all separated). The Japanese toilet is in good condition and is very clean. However, I found the sink/mirror and the shower to be a bit old and rusty. Specifically with regards to the shower, try and get in first as there is limited hot water. Nevertheless, the force of the shower is very strong. ||- Location: Close to Tanimachikyuchome Station (3 minute walk) and Nippombashi station (6 minute walk). Additionally, there are some good food eateries, bars and convenience stores all located within a 200 metre radius of the hostel.||- Service: Michael and the rest of his team are very friendly and helpful. I didn't get a chance to interact much with them and the other guests, so cannot comment much on this point. ||||Overall, it is a...
