BLUE BIRDS ROOF TOP TERRACE — Restaurant in Osaka

For a BBQ and bar this close to the castle with such an amazing view I would have expected this place to charge a lot more than it does!!! Drinks are very reasonably priced at 500 yen for a beer. the BBQ itself is just over 3000 yen for the basic option which gives you a reasonable but not overly large amount of meat but does also include the buffet where you can get vegetables, salads, curry and rice etc so you get more than enough food with your money. This is especially so as you also get 2 hours of all you can drink alcohol and soft drinks which is astonishingly good value considering the location. The view itself is the key part of the experience and it does not disappoint. it is amazing. There are 2 main areas of the terrace. the side closest to the castle is exclusively for BBQs whilst the furthest side is for drinking and ordering their smaller food items. You can still get a great view of the castle if you sit on the left side of this area. there are also several sofas up here if you want a more comfortable seat and aren't bothered about the view. Staff are very friendly and helpful and if you get cold they can provide blankets which is very nice. Overall, this is a wonderful place to have dinner and enjoy the great view of the park and castle or, if you not hungry, just to get a quick, reasonably priced drink and admire the view!!! I've been her 3 times and I look forward to coming again...

This place is complete disappointment. Obviously people is here for the environment and doesn't really expecting crazy good food in such place right beside the Osaka Castle.

The "dining" area was divided by two section. One with a clear good view of the castle while another section having an "obstacle" blocking the view.

Obviously ours was "assigned" to the bad view section. We had 13 people with reservation days before. We tried our luck to request to change our place but rejected or not even rejected but shouted us off by saying they are serving others guest now, ask us to wait.

Obviously again, they ignored us. And we just doesn't want to be "problematic" anyway. But by observing, we noticed that they serve the nice area with more or completely all western tourist or non Asian.

I'm not sure about the "rasicsm" or the arrangement of section with the amount of money u spent. But the whole meal cost us 60 thousand yen.

We are ok If they let people know to pay more to have better view but with this quality of service, Japan have way more better place to serve people better.

Don't waste the effort just for the view becasue the food is so tasteless with...

I never ever wrote a restaurant review, but I had to for this spot.

This place is all about the view and getting photos. The view is spectacular. Now here is where I got upset…

If your rsvp is 7pm, arrive 6:45pm because you have to walk 15minutes to get to the rooftop location within castle grounds, which is not mentioned upon rsvp or there website. If you are 15minutes late, you will lose your rsvp. The drinks are very basic, no fancy cocktails, so don’t expect that. I can make better cocktails than the bartenders.

We expected to have some kind of fancy stove/flat iron grill to make our food but they just rolled out a mini webber grill you would find at Home Depot(I was shocked). So expect yourself to smell like a charcoal grill with your fancy clothes. Also, the meat cuts were not so great. Service was abysmal, not once did someone ask, “Is everything going well?” OR “How is your food?” OR “Do you need anything?”.

Truly disappointing. You would expect to have way better service, food, and drinks at a superior historical location in Osaka.

Like I said, you are buying the view. Im only giving it 2 stars because it was unlimited...
