Exactly the type of Japanese kissaten I've been longing to visit! I was intrigued by the lovely fake food display at the front and was thoroughly amazed by the interior. This cafe has been featured on TV as a location for a telecom company ad in Japan, as evidenced by one of the photos hanging on the wall. The service was also delightful – the elderly chef and waitress, who I assumed were a couple, were lovely. A humble yet full of character little cafe at the end of the Shinseikai area. The service staff is friendly, kind and professional by serving us. The owner at the food preparation area, who is a senior, his greeting to us made us felt very warm and welcoming. He served my child a biscuit while waiting for the food to be served. It was my luck that I found this unassuming place walking down the Shinsekai area, a short walk from the Tsutenkaku Tower. The store has been around for 70 years, the oldest shop in the area, the owner is currently 85 years old! (based on what I asked the lovely waitress but I also might be wrong so don’t quote me on that). They were so happy that people loved the food and drinks here.
