Ladies and gentleman, it isn't very often I take time to pleasure the internet with my reviews but I have to show an equal amount of respect that was shown to me by Naoki Morimoto (Chef); who has got tastebuds jumping for joy with this gratifying plate of heavily desires: the Sukiyaki (halal).
Honestly, the black wagyu was just sublime. Allow me to patiently describe:
As the video shows, I was first embraced by just a slither of the beef that sounded like thunder as soon as it hit scorching pan, the flavours in the air intensified with the sound of fireworks of the fat reacting to the heat, my nostrils glared and I could feel myself salivating! As soon Naoki-san put a piece on my plate, I cradled it in egg yolk before indulging...
WOW (enter reference to a famous cooking anime and typical umami scenes).
Before I knew it, I was already having a third and fourth slice before Naoki-san added the extra noodles, vegetables and condiments.
At first, I laughed, I mean...why do I need these vegetables when I have this plethora of meat waiting to be sunbathed and devoured!?
Once everything was in the same dish and the wagyu was cooked and coated, I repeated the process...this time my mind drew a blank. I could not recollect a moment of having anything taste this good!
The meat was tender, juicy, tasteful with each chew more and more flavours were coating every nook and cranny in my mouth.
The shocker? It wasn't just the meat! The noodles and vegetables! Dare I try everything in one bite? Of course! Long before I knew it, the entire dish came to a finish.
I was overwhelmed. Joyous but saddend that the food had defeated me. I felt beyond satisfied.
I was then treated to vanilla ice cream which was the right amount of sweetness. It was refreshing.
Ah, just writing this is making me drool and want to go back for seconds but my stomach is still twice the size.
Anyway, thank you if read this far. The next chapter is yours to experience yourself!
Thank you so much for this lovely experience!
Additional notes: The meal itself is a great portion, worthy of its price. Definitely more than two people can handled!
There are praying facilities at the restaurant and ample amount of seating.
Special mention to Saed who guided me through...
Read moreI recently had a very unpleasant experience at Halal Washoku Minori. I was excited to try their shabu shabu set and sukiyaki set, as I had heard good things about it. However, I was immediately turned off by the restaurant's unreasonable minimum order policy. I was informed by the waiter that I had to order at least two shabu-shabu sets and two sukiyaki sets in order to be served. This was a mandatory requirement, and the waiter explained that it was "restaurant policy." I was shocked by this policy, as it meant that I would have to spend a minimum of 23,200 yen (approximately $150 USD) just to try their food. I explained to the waiter that I simply wanted to try one of each dish. However, the waiter was inflexible and insisted that I had to order the minimum amount. I found this policy to be extremely customer-unfriendly and an attempt to upsell their menu. As a result of this unreasonable policy, I was forced to leave the restaurant without eating. I was very disappointed with my experience at Washoku Minori and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are many other shabu-shabu and sukiyaki restaurants in Osaka that do not have such ridiculous minimum order...
Read moreI don’t know if the chefs will remember us but my little brother and I came a year ago (already 🥲) and we were so blown away by the quality of the food as the kindness of the staff. We rarely ate something this good, ramen bowls were huge and so flavorful ! Meat gyozas are also a must !! Super crispy and juicy inside. You can really feel and taste that it is the highest quality and that the chefs are super respectful of their clients and mindful of the food they make. It is such a pity that they aren’t that known !! As muslims we were so happy to find this type of quality in Japan and it’s cheap for what they offer !! They also have a place where you can pray. Themselves prayed there. Macha’Allah, i hope God will make your business thrive because you deserve it. Oh yeah and last detail, one chef is japanese and the other one is ouighour so we have to support these kind of initiatives ! To the owners : you have participate to make a unforgettable memory for us, if you remember we came a second time all the way from Kyoto because we liked it so much ! Thanks again, two...
