I have proven this problem beyond a reasonable doubt after eating at this Kura sushi along with 4-5 locations in Tokyo: this restaurant relies on AI to assign tables to diners and the system is majorly flawed. It unfairly prioritizes parties of 2 or more…if you’re a solo diner expect to wait at least an hour for a spot, EVEN if the counter with solo diner booths has many empty spots. I waited an hour last night and there were many, many parties of 2 or 3 who arrived and within minutes got a table. I assume some of those people made reservations ahead of time…but there’s no way that all of them did. If the system is fair, then why not give me or the other solo diners who had been waiting over an hour one of the tables that were available for the parties of 2+ that walked in and got tables almost immediately? I complained to the management, which is of course something no one’s does in Japan, and all they could do was admit that the program is flawed and apologized. I’ve said nothing the last 2-3 times this happened, but it is incredibly unfair and I had to speak up. Fix this Kura sushi or you will lose many customers like me who will not...
Read moreKura is a chain sushi conveyor belt store in Japan who oftens collaborates with well-known anime or games in the form of their 5 plates for 1 gacha chance. During our visit, they were hosting a Blue Lock campaign so that was interesting.
The price can be expensive if you order a lot of special dishes, but it is still affordable sushi and they were fresh. It can't compare to high-end sushi but hey, you get what you're paying for. We were super full by the end of our meal and the dessert was delicious!
By the way, you order with a tablet. You can press play or 遊ぶ to engage in the gashapon when you start ordering. The "half" option when ordering sushi means half rice. Great for people who want to try lots of menus without getting too full!
We had to wait for an hour before getting a table for dinner though. (Got a queue at 7pm and got our table around 8:20pm) I suggest you either avoid the rush hour completely or plan your dinner well, get a queue, go wander and come back on time. The area is full of shopping locations so it is...

Food was good. I was recommended some dry aged tuna or salmon idk which. It was okay i put soy sauce and wasabi on them. I had some rice wrapped in fried tofu, sweet and i liked it. I had some soup. Then some cucumber rolls. Cucumber tasted too dry if that makes sense, or is that something to really complain about. The sushi didn't make my stomach turn, so all is well I guess. I tried ramen from a buddy and it was a little toooo spicy for me to drink.
If you want to eat immediately don't expect it. If you have more than four people, good luck or get two tables. Idk what I got, I forgot most. I thought I got ramen noodles I just received less than a quarter worth of noodles that a cup of noodle would give me. Took about 1500 yen. 3-5 plates and soup. I put Wasabi on everything so I feel like I made my money's worth. It's 12:30 am of the next day, I'm...
