OSA COFFEE — Restaurant in Osaka

Chanced upon this cafe as we were doing some shopping across the street. Rlly glad that we gave this a go!💖

Ordered ice matcha latte, ice americano, pudding and chocolate cake. They had another menu option where you can have ice-cream ontop of the pudding AND I RLLY WANTED TO HAVE THAT… but it was so cold (around 12-14 deg).

Drinks was ok. The pudding was sooooooo good. It had the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. The burnt caramel made it even better???? It balances the overall sweetness and gave a little extra kick to it. The chocolate cake was pretty good too! It was chocolatey (but not too sweet & gooey) and dense, just the way I like it.

Note: The cafe is pretty small with limited seating. Suggest to order takeaway if you see more than 6-8 people in the queue. We had 5 people in front of us and we waited for more...

OSA coffee has been on my cafe bucket list. We ordered Espresso, Iced Hojicha Latte, Iced Matcha Latte and a Chocolate pound cake. All items we have ordered were excellent. Hojicha and Matcha Latte (both iced) were particularly memorable. They were smooth with pleasant nutty flavour without excessive bitterness. The matcha as well as the milk were fresh and high quality. Espresso tasted pleasant and balanced with bright fruity flavour. Of note, this coffee shop has a strict 1 drink per customer policy for eat-in. Ambience was cozy. The shop felt small. The ice cream with pudding was good, the sauce has some bitterness to it and it compliments the sweetness pretty well. Americano was just normal, nothing great but it’s not bad.

As for the 3 star review, it’s because they didn’t seem to care about cleanliness. When I was told to go to my spot, there’s residual coffee/melted icecream(?) on the table and I had to wipe it myself, which is okay cuz they provided the wipe. But their garbage “cup” on the table was packed to the brim before I even got there. During my meal, I saw one of the baristas accidentally knocked a towel into the garbage bin and then picked it up and proceeded to used it to wipe the “cleaned” spoon...
