I stopped in here for a quick bowl of ramen before my Shinkansen. With a short line outside I was worried I might have to skip it to make my train, but they work quickly and I finished with plenty of time to spare. I'm vegetarian, and was pleasantly surprised to see two types of vegan ramen on the menu, tonkotsu style and miso style. The tonkotsu style was delicious, with a broth that genuinely tasted quite meaty, and a slice of "char siu" that really hit the spot. It was also great to see a dedicated vegan section on the menu, including a page explaining their vegan policy. They also mark every dish with ingredients that might be allergens or otherwise cause issue for some...

Totally obsessed with the vegan ramen offered here! Tried both vegan options and I love them both. You can also indicate the level of spiciness and the broth was just so yummy. Flavorful, umami and creamy, I just couldn’t stop slurping the broth. What was very outstanding was the vegan char siu. I had previously tried vegan char siu offered by a popular ramen chain but the one offered by Kiou surpasses that by leaps and bounds. Nicely charred and delicious, it really leveled up the dish. The gyoza and side dishes weren’t available then so cant comment on those. It’s a very small joint but a definite must try if you are at Shin...

The food was very disappointing, and the service was absolutely terrible. Despite being a family, they seated us at bar stools. When we mentioned that our child couldn’t reach the table, the staff simply shrugged and continued talking amongst themselves. We had to ask multiple times just to get plates, and it took three calls before anyone bothered to come over. To top it off, they insisted we pay the bill upfront before receiving our food, while every other customer was allowed to pay after their meal.

We were genuinely baffled by their dismissive attitude...

I stumbled upon Ramen Kiou at Shin Osaka Station and was blown away by their unique tomato-based ramen! The flavor was rich and savory, and I loved that I could customize the spiciness level to my liking. But the real game-changer was the option to finish my meal with a bowl of rice, which I could then mix with the remaining soup broth to create a creamy, risotto-like dish. It was absolute genius and utterly delicious! If you're a ramen enthusiast looking to try something new, or just a foodie seeking a satisfying meal, Ramen Kiou is a must-visit destination.
